Information
Understanding the user types and signup processes in Influitive is crucial for managing your community effectively. This section outlines the key differences and processes associated with each user type.
Not Joined Advocates
Typically, new contacts added to the Influitive hub start as Not Joined Advocates. They remain in this category until they accept an invitation, at which point they become Joined Advocates and move from the Invite list to the main Advocates Tab.
Joined Advocates
Advocates are individuals who have been invited and have signed up to an Influitive community. They can join using an Invite URL or an email invitation from the Invite List within Influitive. For more information on inviting advocates, refer to this article.
Nominees
Nominees have limited access and are typically associated with Open Signup configurations. They can see Discussions, Challenges, Referrals, etc., only if granted permissions. When nominees complete the standard invite process, they are upgraded to Joined Advocates. More details on permissions for Nominees can be found in the Open Signup section.
Open Signup
Open Signup allows anyone to join the community without an invitation by entering the Influitive community URL. Settings for Open Signup can be found under Admin Name Dropdown > Settings > System > Login / Security. For more information, visit Enabling Open Sign Up. Additionally, you can configure the visibility of Challenges, Rewards, and Discussions for nominees in New Member Permissions (Settings > System > New Member Permissions). For more on this, see New Member Permissions.
