Unsubscription and Consent API / Webhooks

There are 3 New API Features that allow you to integrate your Advocate Hub Email Subscription and Consent Settings with other tools you use. With GDPR right around the corner, these features will help you automate critical use cases.

Unsubscription API

We have created a new API that allows you to unsubscribe an advocate from all Email Communication. The typical example we’ve seen is if you are looking to propagate unsubscription behaviour in other communications you may have to your Advocate Hub. For example, an Advocate may have the option in your regular marketing emails to unsubscribe from all of your Company’s communications. You can then use this API to unsubscribe them from AdvocateHub as well.

Unsubscription Webhook

We have added a new Event and Webhook when an Advocate Unsubscribes from all Advocate Hub Emails via their notification settings. You can use this webhook to pass along unsubscription events to other tools you use, or simply to get notified when an advocate takes this action. This event will also appear in your Activity Feed in the Hub.

Consent Webhook

We have added a new Event and Webhook when an Advocate passes the new Consent Flow (if you have it enabled). The webhook will contain a subscribed_to_emails value indicating whether the advocate has opted in or out of email. If you are not using the Email Opt In Checkbox, this value will always be set to true. You can use this webhook to get notified when an Advocate provides consent, or to take action when they chose to opt-out of email, for example, like educating them on the benefits of receiving Advocate Hub emails. This event will also appear in your Activity Feed in the Hub.
